Bio: Rose Segawa has been with the School of Public Affairs since January of 2006. Rose earned her Masters of Science in Accounting, with specialization in Auditing & Forensic Accounting from the University of Colorado Denver, Business School. Rose earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting from the University of Colorado Denver, Business School.
internal controls for the school in areas of responsibility to prevent fraud,
prevent misstatements and ensure all funds are spent and recorded in compliance with all applicable University, State, and Federal policies. Other responsibilities include: ensures
compliance with sponsor’s additional financial requirements of school
restricted funds; gather,
analyze and interpret financial information as needed for decision making; act as the main liaison and facilitator of the CU
Marketplace, CU concur system, PeopleSoft Finance system and acts as a resource
to other users in the department and implements new procedures or processes
surrounding these systems for the school; communicates, and review financial information; provides financial reports to principal investigators and directors; provides cost reports to program directors, makes accounting entries; and is the administers Grants & Contracts (post award) for the School of Public Affairs and the Buechner Institute for Governance; and supervision of the SPA Accountant/Business Professional.
Rose is a member of the Colorado Fiscal Managers Association.
Rose was raised in Fresno, CA and relocated to Denver in 2001. Rose is an avid Denver Broncos fan and enjoys reading and skiing. Rose currently resides in Aurora with her husband, son, and their Shiba-Inu, Yoshi.
