Bio: Jen Gartner joined the School of Public Affairs in August 2008 and is responsible for the management and administration of grants and contracts. She is trained as a government contracts attorney and has worked with government grants and contracts for many years, first at a large law firm in DC and then at smaller companies in the Denver area. She is extremely familiar with National Science Foundation grants, having managed numerous NSF awards for the Space Science Institute, a CU research affiliate.
Jen received her BA in Criminal Justice and Political Science from the University of Delaware in 1998. Jen also received her J.D. from the George Washington University Law School, where she served as Senior Managing Editor of the Public Contract Law Journal and as Student Director for the Domestic Violence Advocacy Project. For fun, Jen obtained her MPA in Justice Administration from Norwich University in Vermont, where she currently serves as part-time faculty for the MPA/MJA graduate program.
Born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland, Jen is a rabid Ravens fan and keeps a tin of Old Bay seafood seasoning at her desk. Jen is owned by an extremely cute Aussie Cattle Dog mix, Dodger. When she’s not playing with the dog or watching football, Jen enjoys hiking, kayaking, cooking, and – thanks to watching too much HGTV – home renovation.
