Bio: Dr. Katie Kaukinen joined the School of Public Affairs at the Colorado Springs Campus as an Associate Professor and Director of the Criminal Justice Programs in 2007. Her current research interests include intimate partner violence, risk and protective factors for violent victimization, and the relationship between family structure and adolescent problem behaviors. Prior to coming to UCCS, Dr. Kaukinen was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice at the University of South Carolina. She obtained a Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Toronto.
