Teva Scheer spent 30 years working as a human resources manager and director before retiring and earning her Ph.D. from the University of Colorado in Denver. She currently teaches human resources courses for the University of Victoria and the University of Colorado. Since 2000, Teva has written two works of nonfiction, including Governor Lady, a biography of the first woman to be elected a state governor. Governor Lady was a finalist in the Colorado Endowment for the Humanities’ Book Awards competition for the best history or biography of 2005. When she is not teaching or writing, Teva can be found working in her garden outside Victoria, British Columbia.
