Marsha earned her BA at CU Boulder 1965 and MBA at Pepperdine University in California in 1987. After 40+ years of professional experience in human resources and higher education fundraising, Marsha retired in July 2010. She devoted 23 years to higher education fundraising at the University of Colorado Foundation, and previously at the University of Denver, Stanford and Caltech. Additionally, Marsha spent 14 years in human resources at the University of Pennsylvania, Fuller Seminary in Pasadena, CA; and as VP of HR at the Hospital of the Good Samaritan in Los Angeles CA.
Marsha is married to Patric B. Dawe, an Architect/Urban Designer at RNL Design in Denver. They have two daughters: Leslie, a DPS music teacher at Park Hill School; Lisa, a regional Vice President at DaVita, a Fortune 500 health care company. Lisa and husband, Darrell Park adopted adorable, Sami, from Ethiopia (now 5 years old).
In retirement, Marsha is an advisory committee member of the Buechner Institute for Governance, School of Public Affairs, UC Denver. She is a Team Coordinator and volunteers with Stand for Children Colorado – a grassroots advocacy group supporting K-12 school improvements; legislative action, school leadership & effectiveness efforts. At Stand, she serves on DPS School Board Campaign Endorsement Committee; the Principal Selection and Leadership Work Group; the School Funding Work Group. Additionally, Marsha is a weekly tutor of two elementary school 4th graders.
