Currently, DVRAC is conducting a study titled “Asking the Right Questions: A Community Based Action Agenda to End Domestic Violence.” The goal of the study is to create a domestic violence research agenda for Colorado by gathering feedback from communities affected by domestic violence with the goal of learning what they think is most important when it comes to studying domestic violence. The study hopes to build stronger bridges between professional researchers at universities, government agencies and communities. It is DVRAC’s belief that academics studying domestic violence and people who deal with it everyday can learn from one another and find better ways to work together.
The six communities participating in the project are:
- Colorado Springs
Focus groups in each of these communities include:
- Domestic violence advocates
- Law enforcement personnel
