Students Against Interpersonal Violence (SAIV)

SAIV is group of concerned students who want to educate other Auraria students about the nature of interpersonal violence, help students who have experienced interpersonal violence (IPV) find resources in the community, and provide a voice to the administration that interpersonal violence is a serious issue on campus. IPV affects nearly 1 in 4 women and 1 in 8 men.

SAIV’s staff sponsor is Barbara Paradiso, Director of the Center on Domestic Violence at the School of Public Affairs at the University of Colorado Denver. They also work with groups like the Auraria Healthy Relationship Coalition, which is comprised of several faculty and staff across campus including the UCD Counseling Center, Metro Counseling Center, Auraria Police, Student Affairs, and other offices.
