Meghan Hambacher
On behalf of Alpha Phi Sigma,
Kappa Xi, we would like to introduce Meghan Hambacher to our student spotlight.
Meghan is currently a Master’s of
Criminal Justice student, preparing for graduation in May 2013. A Boulder,
Colorado native, Meghan attended the University of Colorado Boulder for her
undergraduate degree, receiving her Bachelor of Science in Business
Administration, with an emphasis in Marketing, International Business and
Entrepreneurship. Upon graduating CU Boulder, Meghan picked up her life to
explore – living in Australia, Italy and London. Arriving back in the States,
Meghan continued her work as an Event Planner, working with local marketing
firms, as well as the restaurants in the Boulder/Denver community. Itching to attain
a higher education, Criminal Justice came to the forefront due to Meghan’s
passion for assisting others in their endeavor to be successful in life, as
well as her drive to understand our social systems as a whole. The University
of Colorado Denver was the ideal fit for a true University of Colorado fan, and
has been a journey that not only has opened her eyes, but given her insight
into all the avenues she hopes to impact change in one day.
“We are what we repeatedly do.
Excellence, then, is not an act, but habit.” -Aristotle
Meghan currently works for Level
3 Communications, utilizing her criminal justice background to assist with
intelligence and security issues companies hiring telecommunications companies
are looking for in today’s marketplace. In her studies she is drawn to the
intelligence and research of the CJ arena, and has been particularly interested
in what she explains as the “tough” topics, but “most relevant ones” in CJ
today – Terrorism, Human trafficking and Sex Offenders. Upon completion of her
degree she will not only be attaining a Masters in Criminal Justice, but will
also be awarded with the Graduate Certificate in Security Intelligence.
“Success is the result of
perfection, hard work, learning from failure, loyalty and persistence.” – Colin
Powell
When you can’t find her behind a
book, computer screen, or in a meeting, Meghan is running the trails of
Boulder, training for her next marathon…spending time with her fiancé…trying
out a new recipe in her kitchen…and enjoying all that life has to offer. She
leads her life by example, and looks forward to all the doors that have yet to
open!
Alpha Phi
