Certified in Public Health Exam

Current Student & Alumni Info

The Certified in Public Health (CPH) examination is an important way to show that you are certified to work effectively in the field of public health.  The effort to certify graduates of accredited schools and programs is an important step toward ensuring that public health is a nationally recognized profession based on documented competencies and a shared dedication to the field.

CPH is administered by the National Board of Public Health Examiners (NBPHE). NBPHE was established in September 2005 as an independent organization, the purpose of which is to ensure that students and graduates from schools and programs of public health accredited by the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH) have mastered the knowledge and skills relevant to contemporary public health. This purpose will be accomplished by developing, preparing, administering and evaluating a voluntary certification exam.
