WestON

Sharing Best Practices

Welcome to WestON, an annual meeting sponsored by the NIOSH Western States Office (WSO), the Council for State and Territorial Epidemiologists (CSTE), and the Mountain & Plains ERC.  State Epidemiologists and NIOSH officials meet in Denver to share best practices.  The conference helps to better track occupational health and safety in their respective states so that they can better target their prevention efforts in local communities and specific at-risk industries.

The fourth annual Western Occupational Network (WestON) meeting was held September 22-23, 2011, in Denver, Colorado. Sponsored by the NIOSH Western States Office (WSO), the Council for State and Territorial Epidemiologists (CSTE), and the Mountain and Plains Education and Research Center (MAP ERC), the meeting provided a venue for occupational safety and health professionals throughout the western U.S. to meet and share ideas for collaboration, information exchange, and capacity building.
