The Mountain & Plains ERC helps create and support opportunities for trainees to learn from more than 40 Faculty members, and from the other trainees, in five different training programs. Multidisciplinary educational opportunities teach students how to address real-world problems facing industry, labor, and workers. This is achieved through shared classes, symposia, worksite walk-throughs, journal clubs and social gatherings. Students receive tuition support, research funds and stipends to train in our five programs:
Occupational & Environmental Medicine Residency
The Occupational and Environmental Medicine (OEM) Residency is ACGME-accredited as a two-year residency program that trains physicians in occupational and environmental medicine to improve the health and safety of workers.

Industrial Hygiene
An accredited program dedicated to training the science and art devoted to the anticipation, recognition, evaluation, prevention, and control of workplace contaminants and stressors that may cause sickness, injury, impaired health or impaired well being among workers or among citizens of the community.

Health Physics
The Department of Environmental & Radiological Health Sciences at Colorado State University offers a comprehensive program leading toward the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in the field of radiation protection or health physics.
