On April 20th,
1914, at Ludlow, Colorado, members of the Colorado National Guard and
representatives of the Colorado Fuel & Iron Company opened machine gun fire
on a camp of 1,200 striking coal miners and their families. Between 19 and 25 people died in the fighting. The Ludlow Massacre remains one of the most
significant events in US Labor History.
April 1st – Early June: Holding Mother Earth Sacred, a photojournalism exhibit about North American tribal communities developing energy resources while maintaining their traditions, will be displayed in the Health Sciences Library’s 3rd floor gallery.
