Misguided Cuts in the President's FY2015 Budget

As you may have heard by now, the President's proposed budget for Fiscal Year 2015 included a sadly familiar though still-misguided budget cut: the complete elimination of BOTH the NIOSH Education and Research Centers AND the NIOSH Agricultural Forestry and Fishing Program. In Colorado, this cut would eliminate the Mountain & Plains Education and Research Center (MAP ERC), as well as the High Plains Intermountain Center for Agricultural Health and Safety (HICAHS).

We are reaching out to our community partners in order to raise awareness about the proposed cut. In the past, some of our partners have graciously sent letters of support to their elected officials in the Senate and the House. Please consider contacting your elected officials to educate them about this decision. Contacting them electronically or by fax is the best way for your Senators and your Congressperson to receive news and opinions from their constituents.

You can find information about your elected officials by clicking here.

I have also included a template letter which you are free to modify if you so choose.

Thank you for your continued support.
