On behalf of The Pan American Health Organization together with the Center for Global Health at the Colorado School of Public Health we welcome you to the Pan American Vaccine Safety Summit web page. We look forward to hosting you in Colorado, United States!
With the participation of leaders from immunization programs in the United States, Canada and Latin America we will review the current efforts in the Region of the Americas to ensure the safety of vaccines, define the framework and mission of the proposed Pan American Vaccine Safety Network (first of its kind in the world), and determine the term of reference of the Pan American Committee on Vaccine Safety, a regional body of experts and institutions in vaccines that will provide evidence based recommendations and guidance to countries in dealing with vaccine safety issues.
As a result of this Summit, the organizers and participating institutions and countries should be able to conclude with the following products:
3.1 A framework that describes the aims, objectives, organization and the funding mechanism for the proposed Pan American Network for Vaccine Safety (PANVS)
3.2 The Terms of Reference (ToR) for the proposed Pan American Committee for Vaccine Safety (PACVS)
3.3 A preliminary Strategic Plan for the PANVS that outlines the priority areas of development, the responsible parties to lead those strategies, and a timeline of next steps to make the Network functional and useful for the Region and countries.
3.4 A web-based platform, titled E-SAVI, will be available without any cost to all the countries of the Americas, in order to notify and analyze timely safety data.

Transportation: There is a shuttle run by Double Tree Hotel that runs to the airport every 30 minutes 24 hours a day. To find the shuttle at the airport, click here for step by step instructions.
Additionally, we are coordinating shuttle transport to the reception on May 9th and to our meeting location and back to the hotel on May 10th and 11th. There will be a shuttle schedule in your welcome/meeting packet you will receive upon check-in at the hotel.
Reception: The evening of May 9th a reception will take place for all Summit participants from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Children's Hospital Colorado. Please see the shuttle schedule in your welcome/meeting packet you will receive upon check-in at the hotel.
Dress: The dress/attire for the reception and two day Summit is business casual.
