NCRE Conference 2017

The NCRE 2017 Conference will be held September 28-29, 2017 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Denver at 3203 Quebec Street in Denver, Colorado.  An opening reception will be held on Wednesday evening September 27, 2017, as well as a group dinner on Thursday evening September 28th – both of which offer additional networking opportunities.
Conference Theme
 The theme of this year’s conference is: Children’s Development in American Indian and Alaska Native Cultural and Linguistic Contexts: Perspectives from Research and Practice.  There will be a panel presentation each day comprised of researchers and practitioners who will share perspectives on the following panel themes:
  • Thursday, September 28th: Culture in Development: Definition, Measurement, and Incorporation into Research and Practice with Tribal Children and Families
  • Friday, September 29th: The Primacy of Native Language in Tribal Children’s Development
Conference Registration
The conference registration fee of $220 covers the welcome reception on Wednesday night September 27th, lunch both conference days, dinner Thursday evening September 28th, and conference materials. Conference registration is limited to 80 participants.  Please be sure to register early to ensure space.  The registration form can be found here. The registration deadline is September 8, 2017
Call for Submissions
Please consider sharing your work with NCRE colleagues!  Research and evaluation efforts related to American Indian and Alaska Native children’s development prenatally through young adulthood are welcome, regardless of the connection to the conference theme.  Works in progress, works presented elsewhere, and new work is welcome.  Please click here for more information.  Submissions are due August 18, 2017.
Conference Hotel and Travel Information
This year’s conference will be held at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Denver.  A conference rate of $124/night is available if rooms are booked by September 5, 2017.  Please click here for more information.
Travel Support
Limited travel support is available to defray the cost of attending the conference.  Please indicate your request for travel support on the registration form.
Deadline for registering and requesting travel support is August 18, 2017.
