Janella Hudson

My area of specialization is health communication, with specific training in the analysis of doctor-patient communication. My graduate work and early research explored the role of culture and communication in contributing to health disparities. My research examines health communication processes with diverse medically underserved groups, including black patients, to produce culturally tailored educational interventions. My second primary area of interest concerns family/relational communication processes related to genetic risk. Presently, I am a postdoctoral fellow in the department of Health Behavior and Outcomes at the Moffitt Cancer Center where I contribute to the study of doctor-patient communication with adolescent and young adult (AYA) cancer patients.
