Cathy Battaglia, PhD, MSHA, RN

Biography 

Dr. Battaglia is an Assistant Professor and the Director of the Health Services Research PhD program in the Health System Management and Policy Department in the Colorado School of Public Health.  She currently teaches Clinical Outcomes Assessment and Grant Writing in the Health Services Research PhD program.  In addition, Dr. Battaglia taught Introduction to Clinical Research from 2004 to 2008. She is also a faculty member in the LEADS program in the School of Medicine at the University of Colorado Denver and teaches in the Advocacy and Leadership electives.  She also oversees the Summer Internship program where second year medical students work with a community-based organization. Dr. Battaglia conducts Health Services research in the Department of Veterans Affairs and her research is targeted toward helping veterans quit smoking.  She has expertise in program development, motivational interviewing, evaluation, and outcomes research.
