The Health Kids Colorado Survey is conducted by the University of Colorado Denver and collects youth health and risk-related data around the state from a random sample of middle school and high school students in Fall of odd years.

Patricia Alvarez Valverde, MPH

Co-Investigator, Tobacco Cessation Intervention Research

Ms. Valverde collaborates in design and implementation of smoking cessation research studies among populations with low socioeconomic status. She is Co- Director of the Patient Navigator Training Collaborative (www.patientnavigatortraining.org), an Instructor, and a doctoral candidate in Health Services Research with extensive experience in community outreach, patient navigation, and patient navigator supervision. She recently managed two patient navigation research and service projects: the Denver Patient Navigator Research Program (PNRP) at Denver Health, and Project SOL (Survivor Outreach to Latinas with Breast Cancer). She was also co-investigator for a pilot study testing navigation for smoking cessation in a Denver Head Start program. She is an instructor and curriculum developer for several patient navigator projects, including the Patient Navigator Training Collaborative, the National ACS/PNRP training program, and the Community College of Denver Community Health Worker Training program.
