The Health Kids Colorado Survey is conducted by the University of Colorado Denver and collects youth health and risk-related data around the state from a random sample of middle school and high school students in Fall of odd years.

Ms. Garrett works as a Tobacco Treatment Specialist for inpatients at University of Colorado Hospital, and trains other Tobacco Treatment Specialists in Motivational Interviewing and other counseling strategies. She also develops and delivers curriculum related to the prevention of cancer and psychosocial aspects of chronic disease. She has served as co-investigator on seven telephone intervention research studies in cancer prevention and control. She is a member of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers (MINT).
