University of Northern Colorado
Your lifestyle is authentic

You need a campus that is big enough to give you all the opportunities you want and small enough to make you feel at home.

At the University of Northern Colorado (UNC) located in Greeley, Colorado it’s easy to connect. Get the kind of personal, academic support from faculty that can help you truly succeed without feeling like a number.  You’ll feel at home at UNC.

Rocky Mountain high

The University of Northern Colorado is located in the city of Greeley (population 90,000) on the Front Range in Colorado.  Sure, it’s been named one of the top places to live in the country by Forbes Magazine. But it’s also situated close to everything you’ll want to do in Colorado and beyond. UNC is an hour from Denver and Cheyenne, 30 minutes from Loveland and Fort Collins, and an hour from Rocky Mountain National Park or snowboarding and skiing!

Explore UNC bear country

Not only does UNC have a great campus, it’s also located at the heart of Northern Colorado. With 340 days of sunshine, mild winters with light snowfalls October to April and views of the majestic Rockies, Northern Colorado is one gorgeous place to live. At UNC, everything you need, including shopping, entertainment, restaurants and the great outdoors, is only a hop, skip or jump away!

From big name concerts and performances, to local jam sessions and open mic nights, to our very own International Film Series and Cultural Centers, there’s plenty to do. When you need some time away from the books, your biggest challenge will be deciding where to spend it!

A campus that meets your needs

UNC Dining Services employs four award-winning chefs that plan and prepare a variety of delicious meals and snacks every day. With dining halls, food courts, coffee shops and Gourmet-to-Go, you can satisfy your cravings any time night or day.

The James A. Michener Library and renowned Skinner Music Library aren’t exactly the kind of place you can hear a pin drop. Sure, you can find a quiet spot to hit the books, but you can also have coffee, meet your study group or use one of many computer stations.

When not studying, scream your head off at an NCAA Division I game, root for our nationally ranked Club Sport hockey team, or workout at our nothing-short-of-amazing Rec Center. We have enough intercollegiate, club and intramural sports to keep you busy, as an athlete and a spectator.

It’s great to be a bear.

As soon as you step on campus, you’ll start to understand what Bear Pride is all about. Our students, faculty and staff are happy to be here. Not only will you get a great education, you’ll enjoy our beautiful campus, incredible open spaces and state-of-the-art facilities. No wonder everyone on campus is smiling.
