Presenting current topics in health, work, and environment

The Center partners with the Department of Environmental and Occupational Health to host presentations and an interdisciplinary seminar series covering new and emerging trends. Each year, we bring in visiting scholars and researchers to present on a wide range of topics including environmental health, Total Worker Health®, safety and health in oil and gas, and toxicology.

Professor Candidate Presentation: Evidence-Based Emergency Management—Vaccine Uptake, Worker Safety, and Reunification

Dr. Terri Rebmann is a Professor and the Director of the Institute for Biosecurity in the Saint Louis University College for Public Health & Social Justice. She is a PhD Nurse researcher with an emphasis in infectious disease emergency preparedness. In addition, she is board certified in Infection Prevention and Epidemiology and an APIC Fellow. Her research areas of focus include healthcare and public health professional disaster preparedness, longterm use of respiratory protection, and addressing barriers to vaccine uptake.  Click here to view video

David Gimeno Ruiz de Porras, MSc, PhD is a professor within the Department of Epidemiology, Human Genetics and Environmental Sciences at the University of Texas Health Science Center at the Houston School of Public Health in San Antonio. He is also director of the Occupational Epidemiology Doctoral Training Program, part of the U.S. National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health Education and Research Center at the Southwest Center for Occupational and Environmental Health.

Protecting worker health in Colorado and beyond

Steven E. Lacey, PhD, CIH, CSP is a professor and chair of the Department of Environmental Health Science at the Indiana University Fairbanks School of Public Health in Indianapolis. A Certified Industrial Hygienist and Certified Safety Professional, Dr. Lacey currently serves as president of the American Industrial Hygiene Association.
