Travis Nemkov, Professional Research Assistant

Travis earned two B.Sc. degrees from the University of Colorado Boulder in Biology and Biochemistry with a minor in Chemistry.  His experience is primarily with recombinant protein production and purification.  During his time in Boulder, Travis spent a summer working as an intern at Roche Colorado Corporation and was introduced to peptide chemistry.  From there, he moved into the lab of Dr. Michael Stowell at CU Boulder where he assisted in developing a novel recombinant peptide production scheme.  Dr. Stowell ultimately co-founded AmideBio based on this process and Travis spent nearly four years with the startup prior to joining the Proteomics Facility.

Kirk Hansen Ph.D.

Dr. Hansen is an Assistant Professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics at the University of Colorado Denver.  Dr. Hansen managed the Proteomics Facility from 2005-2010 after working at the University of California at San Francisco's; NIH supported National Biomolecular Resource Facility. He has extensive experience with the identification and characterization of low-level peptide and protein samples. He has optimized and evaluated differential expression strategies for the characterization of complex protein mixtures from mammalian tissue and cell-lines, with emphasis on extracellular matrix.
