1. Graduate Record Examination (GRE) Test Scores

The Graduate Record Examination (GRE), or its equivalent, is required for all applicants. The University of Colorado Denver-HSC Campus code is 4875. Applicants should check with individual programs regarding the GRE and any recommended subject tests. Computer-based testing is offered year-round in many locations. GRE booklets (including application materials) are available at the Graduate School office, or by contacting the ETS/GRE program directly at (609) 771-7670. Instructions for Submitting Domestic Transcripts

Two official transcripts from all university/college-level work are required. Official transcripts must be in sealed envelopes and sent by the issuing institution directly to the program to which you are applying. To locate a program address, see the “PhD Program Directory” or the “MS Program Directory”.

If you have attended the University of Colorado, you must request an official transcript. We cannot obtain one on your behalf.

Instructions for Submitting International Transcripts/Evaluations

Official copies of all transcripts in English and in the original language are required. An outside professional evaluation of all higher education credentials is required prior to admission. This evaluation must include an analysis of courses, grades, and grade point average, and U.S. degree equivalency. Evaluations will be accepted from any reputable professional company. 3. Recommendation Letters

Three or four letters of recommendation are required, depending on the program to which you are applying. The letter of recommendation may be completed by your recommender on-line or by paper. For those recommenders that would like to complete the letter on-line, provide the necessary information within the on-line application and they will be sent the appropriate information to complete your recommendation on-line. For those that wish to complete the recommendation by paper and mail it in, please complete the necessary information at the top and bottom of the recommendation form included in the downloadable forms section of the application. Applicants should give one form to each person from whom a recommendation is requested. It is important that those recommending you evaluate your competence and potential as a graduate student and that they be advised of the proper departmental address to which the recommendations should be sent (this applies only to mailed recommendations). To locate a program address, see the “PhD Program Directory” or the “MS Program Directory”. Recommendation letters should not be sent to the Graduate School or the Office of Admissions.

4. Graduate School Application Fee


NOTE: Transcripts should not be sent to the Graduate School address below. Please send your official transcripts directly to your program of interest. To locate a program address, see the“PhD Program Directory” or the “MS Program Directory”.

A $50.00 domestic and $75.00 international non-refundable application fee [credit card (on-line only), check, or money order] is required. No application will be processed unless this fee is paid.
