When a prospective student applies for admission at UC Denver’s Anschutz Medical Campus Graduate School, the program faculty will decide whether he or she will be recommended for admission. That recommendation is further reviewed by the Graduate School and the student is informed of the final admission decision.
Accepted applicants will receive a statement of eligibility and a confirmation form, which must be returned with the confirmation deposit of $200.00 and background check fee of $65.00.
Regular Student Status
Qualified applicants are recommended for admission to regular degree student status by the admitting program, pending final approval by the Assistant Dean of the Graduate School. An eligible applicant for admission as a regular degree student must:
- Hold a bachelor's or master's degree from an accredited college or university, or demonstrate completion of work equivalent to the baccalaureate or master's degree given at this University.
- Have an undergraduate grade point average of at least 3.00 ("A" = 4.00).
- Have taken the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) or an equivalent measure of preparation for graduate studies.
- Meet the requirements, including adequate preparation, for admission as established by the program faculty.
Provisional Student Status
An applicant of UC Denver’s Anschutz Medical Campus Graduate School not meeting the specified criteria for admission as a regular degree student may be recommended by the program for admission as a provisional student. Provisional acceptance includes a statement of conditions which the student must meet in order to become a regular degree student.
Admission of the applicant as a provisional student requires the approval of the Assistant Dean of the Graduate School. Provisional students are subject to the same standards of performance required of regular degree students and must maintain a 3.00 grade point average or higher, according to the terms of their provisional admission. This GPA must be maintained each term in all courses taken.
Applicants Denied Admission
Applicants not recommended for admission will be informed of the decision by the program. Persons who do not wish to work toward an advanced degree can apply to enroll in selected courses as "non-degree" students through the Registrar's Office, 303-724-8059.
