WE NEED YOUR HELP IN SUPPORTING THE NEXT GENERATION OF SCIENTISTS

Our program is collecting funds which will be awarded to incoming students who need financial assistance as they transition to graduate school. We aim to provide 10 Resiliency Awards this year if we meet our goal.

As a First Generation and Non-Traditional student, choosing an institution in which to pursue my Ph.D. was an exciting yet scary decision.  Luckily, for me, the Resiliency Award relieved some financial burden, allowing me to focus more on community, student support, and academic opportunities.  Being a recipient not only alleviated stress but also strengthened my confidence, as I embark on this academic journey.

The Biomedical Sciences Program (BSP) at the University of Colorado-Anschutz Medical Campus has the largest training faculty of any biomedical PhD program in Colorado, with over 200 active faculty. Our students train in a wide range of disciplines including Cancer Biology, Microbiology, Immunology, Stem Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, and Pharmacology. Many students work at the interface between fundamental science and translational research that impacts the clinic.

Graduate Student Deviyani Rao

I decided to join BSP because it gave me the opportunity to see how the various PhD programs offered on Anschutz Medical Campus operate in person. This allowed me to select a PhD program that not only fit best with my research interests but also my personality and long-term goals. I’m truly grateful for the insights into the different programs that BSP provided!
