  • confined load-deformation test method of geosynthetics.
  • long-term creep characteristics of geosynthetics and GRS mass.
  • full-scale experiments of GRS walls, slopes, and bridge abutments.
  • soil-geosynthetic interactive performance (SGIP) test, the only test method capable of investigating soil-geosynthetic interactive behavior in GRS structures.
  • CTI design method for GRS walls, one of the four most popular design methods for design of GRS walls.
  • design and construction guidelines for GRS bridge abutments, developed under the sponsorship of the National Academy of Science.

The Geotechnical and Structural Lab is used for conducting basic element tests, reduced-scale model tests and full-scale experiments of unreinforced soil mass and reinforced soil mass.
