Overview

Research in applied and computational mechanics covers many fields, including:

  • optimal control theory
  • inverse problems
  • parameter estimation
  • solid/fluid interactions
  • nonlinear dynamics

Projects

Currently Professor Mohsen Tadi, the department’s primary researcher in applied and computational mechanics, is working as a National Research Council Senior Fellow at the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California, and will return fall 2010.
