Students test a variety of samples for mechanical properties such as modulus, tensile strength, and impact strength in the Material Properties Laboratory. Materials tested include metals, steel, aluminum and polymer composites.
We use a screw-driven tensile tester and pendulum impact testers, hardness testers and composite vacuum forming equipment.
