BS-MS/MEng option

The Department of Mechanical Engineering offers a bachelor's/master's degree option that allows students seeking a Bachelor of Science degree (BS) in Mechanical Engineering to count up to six credit hours of graduate level work (5000-level or above) toward a BS degree and either a Master of Science degree (MS) or a Master of Engineering degree (MEng) at CU Denver.

The six credit hours must meet the BS degree requirements in the ME technical elective area as well as meet the requirements for the future graduate degree sought. This option is open only to students who plan to seek both a BS and MS/MEng degree at CU Denver.

Students must first be admitted to and complete the BS degree then must separately apply to and be admitted to a Mechanical Engineering graduate program at CU Denver in order for the BS/MS option to apply. Students who are interested in this option are strongly encouraged to meet with an advisor in their junior or senior year for additional information regarding requirements. Please note: Completion of two 5000-level courses at the undergraduate level does not guarantee admission into a ME graduate program.

For more information, e-mail the Department of Mechanical Engineering or call 303-556-8516 to set up an advising appointment.
