I am a senior majoring in Psychology with a minor in Sociology. I am an LA for Dr. Bernard in Biol 3832 General Genetics. The LA position was a great way for me to get involved with a class that I had thoroughly enjoyed and it has confirmed my desire to become a genetic counselor in the future. The LA position has given me responsibility and professionalism that I can apply to my future goals as a student and has strengthened my communication skills with fellow students and professors.
My name is Audra Wilson and I am a Junior doing pre-pharmacy prerequisites. I am an LA for Dr. Bruehl's General Chemistry II class and I love helping/teaching others which is why I chose to be an LA. I love when a student has an epiphany on a topic that they did not understand and when people come to my office hours!
My name is Andy Lamp and I'm a Junior in the middle of my Chemistry major. I'm LAing for Dr. Burrow's Gen Chem I. I wanted to be a Chemistry LA because I find Chemistry interesting and wanted to pass that passion on to students. I'm enjoying watching students' A-HA moments as concepts click for them and they start to see the big picture.
My name is Shane Jonnsson and I'm a junior Biology major en route to medical school. I am an LA for Dr. Bernard's General Genetics course. I sought this position because I have always enjoyed teaching and I have a passion for intellectual endeavors, especially within the sciences. I thoroughly enjoy the teaching aspects of being an LA, especially when the students I work with end up explaining the concept to others–it is very fulfilling!

I am a Post-Baccalaureate (B.S. Radio-TV-Film '04 The University of Texas at Austin). I am gathering the pre-requisites to apply for Pharmacy school. I LA for Dr. Bruehl, Second semester General Chemistry. I have an interest in education and enjoy participating in programs that allow me to explore this interest. I get a kick out of watching a student have an "Aha!" moment. The Learning Assistant program introduces cooperative learning into more traditional lectures and it is exciting to watch first hand how that enriches the classroom experience for students.
Dr. Bud Talbot teaches the LA pedagogy course specifically designed to assist LAs in gaining a deeper understanding of science education
