- Matthew Johnson, Sociology Honors Graduate (Spring 2014) has been accepted to the Ph.D. History program at Georgetown University and awarded a five-year full funded Enviornmental History fellowship. Matthew was a finalist for the CLAS Outstanding Undegraduate Award in Spring 2014.
- Heather Worrell, Sociology Honors Graduate (Spring 2014), presented her honor's thesis, "The Continuation of the Commercialization of Intimate Life and the Abduction of Feminism: Arlie Russell Hochschild's Study of Women's Advice Books Two Decades Later", at the Research and Creative Activities Symposium.
- Sociology major, Tanya Cohen was selected the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences Most Outstanding Undergraduate (BA) for Fall 2013
- Stella Min, a double major in sociology and economics, has been selected as a Honors Program Participant for the 2014 meeting of the American Sociological Association in San Francisco. Stella also will be presiding over a research round-table at the annual conference. In Fall, Stella heads to the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill where she has accepted an offer of admission to the Sociology PhD program. She has been awarded a 5-year pre-doctoral training grant from the Carolina Population Center that will fund her graduate training.
