Bio

As a native of the rural South, my scholarly interests center on the intersection of race and place, with particular consideration of inequality, public policy, and racial attitudes in the contemporary U.S. I teach statistics, research methods, race/ethnicity, urban sociology, and occasional courses on community as well as race and public policy. I also serve as the graduate advisor for our MA program.

Prior to joining UC-Denver, I was a member of the faculty at the University of Denver and Western Washington University in Bellingham, WA. I also worked for several years in Institutional Research at UC-Denver, and I have consulted with several policy organizations in the Denver area. I received my MA and PHD. in sociology with an emphasis on race relations and inequality from Penn State.
