Bio

Background: Earned Ph.D. in Social/Personality psychology with a minor in Behavior Genetics from the University of Colorado Boulder in 1982. Tenure track faculty at UCD since 1985. In addition to faculty duties have served as Chair of Faculty Assembly (1994-1996), Interim Associate Vice Chancellor of Academic & Student Affairs (1997-1998), and faculty representative to the Auraria Higher Education Board.

Research Focus: Primary Focus: Psychometrics. Have designed and published scales: BPCS (Belief in Personal Control Scale), CAI (Cancer Attitude Inventory), LSE (Labile Self-Esteem Scale). Secondary Focus: Illness Attitudes and Stereotypes and Unstable Self-Esteem.
