Bio
Michelle joined the communication department at UCD in August 2010. Previously, she worked at the Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education (WICHE) in Boulder, Colorado for eight years.
Before coming to UCD, she served as the associate project director for the State Scholars Initiative, a program funded by the US Department of Education, which encouraged students in the 7th grade and higher to pursue a rigorous education to best prepare them for college and careers. She served as a liaison between the directors of 22 state programs and the national program administration.
In her earlier years at WICHE, she provided programmatic and budgetary support for several privately and government funded projects related to education, including the Student Exchange Program (SEP); the well-known tuition reciprocity program, online education for rural students, and advanced placement programs. In addition, she compiled research and provided editing services for several publications, including, "Knocking at the College Door;" a study of national high school graduation and college attendance trends.
Michelle commutes from her home in Boulder each day, and enjoys splitting her time between the surreal beauty of the mountains and this exciting, urban campus.
