Ian is a Doctoral student at the University of Denver, studying Rhetoric and Communication Ethics with a specific focus on Greco-Roman rhetoric as it applies to the contemporary study of legal reasoning and practice. He earned both his B.A. and M.A. in Speech Communication from Colorado State University with strong emphases in public address, rhetorical criticism, and critical media studies. His primary areas of research include rhetorical theory, contemporary public address, rhetorical criticism, the critical study of mediated discourse, and legal rhetoric. Ian teaches courses in critical media studies, argumentation, and advertising. In addition, Ian is a member and serves as the current Chair of the Visibility Committee for the American Society of Trial Consultants.
