Bio:

Marisa's research area is Contemporary Spanish (Peninsular) literature, film and culture.  Her most recent book (forthcoming) is a study of the photographic medium in the narrative of Spanish contemporary author Antonio Muñoz Molina.

Recently, Marisa has been awarded a Colorado European Union Center of Excellence Curriculum Development Grant. This grant will assist her this summer in her research on themes of travel, exile and migration through current Spanish (Peninsular) literary texts, films, documentaries, critical theory, and other products of popular culture, such as television programs. The results of this research will benefit, not only the course : Espacios de lo intercultural: Españoles en el mundo y Destino España, (offered for the first time on Fall 2011), but also her future publications.
