We understand the strong vocational focus of our students; they want to apply their education in employment situations. Many employers understand that their employees will serve a diverse clientele and will need to possess the types of interpersonal skills that will allow them to work successfully with very diverse coworkers and clientele. Our present students are already sought out in the very competitive current job environment for the skills and knowledge our courses develop.
Ethnic Studies students are well prepared for careers in law, education, business, human services, community development and planning, public health, politics and government, and advanced graduate studies. Clients from business, nonprofit, government, community and other sectors of American society will increasingly comprise individuals from diverse ethnic and migration backgrounds with different languages, traditions, religions and cultures.
