After failing to conquer Blockbuster due to an inability to stomach science fiction and horror films, Sarah left her home town, which marked the beginning of her journey as a professional student. At the University of Michigan, she studied Film, Art History, and finally completed a degree in English Literature. She tried to abandon her “nerdiness” and become a ski bum. Despite an investment in powder skis, Burton sweatshirts, oversized sunglasses, and perhaps a bandanna or two, she missed the classroom and needed to answer the inevitable question, “What am I going to do for a living?” Returning to the Midwest and attending Loyola University in Chicago, she decided to become a teacher so she could constantly be in school and get paid. Integrating her love for skiing and school, she taught high school in Vail for three years. While teaching mostly tenth and eleventh grades, she also coached speech and debate. Go Forensics! Sarah plans to return to teaching high school, but hopes to continue her journey as a professional student with perhaps a film degree. After writing this profile, she realizes how dorky she has become, which seems emphasized by the use of the third person. At least, a professional student should be a great writing consultant!
