In 2006 and 2007, members of CLAS worked diligently to develop a strategic plan based on the University's Academic Master Planning (AMP) initiative. Several subcommittees developed sections of the plan to correspond with components of the AMP, and in October 2007, they submitted a comprehensive plan that became the blueprint for CLAS. The document included a detailed diversity plan and an overview of seven interdisciplinary signature areas that several faculty groups had proposed.
Also late in 2007, groups from the Anschutz Medical Center and the Downtown Denver Campus were working on a strategic plan for the consolidated, newly-named University of Colorado Denver. In March of 2008, the University of Colorado's Board of Regents approved UC Denver's Strategic Plan 2008-2020. Subsequently, the office of the Provost asked all units to develop plans or revise theirs to conform to UC Denver's. The revised version, CLAS Strategic Plan 2008-2020, will continue to undergo revisions based on feedback from faculty, staff, students, and the Provost's office.
