ALTERNATIVE CAPTURE SYSTEMS

Alternative Capture Systems. National Wildlife Research Center, Fort Collins, Co. Summer 2001

This is a group of 20 16"x20" or 11"x14" Chromogenic prints that are arranged together in a grid.

Each image in this group shows a device created by the NWRC. They represent a project titled Alternative Capture Systems. The project seeks to discover what kind of stimuli attract or repel wildlife. One of the goals of the project is to use commonly available technology to develop humane wildlife management tools. Some of the objects are modified toys that are used for brainstorming ideas, some are collars fitted with GPS tracking systems for coyote, black bear, grizzly bear, and wolf. Other devices are frightening devices that trigger noises and flashing lights when activated by a predator.
