After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in theatre, acting emphasis, from UC Denver in 2000, Mollie Mook continued on to The University of Iowa where she earned her MFA in acting. She has acted in regional theatre throughout the US and was the first American actress ever to have performed in Russia at the International Chekhov Festival in Melikhove, and the first American actress to perform at Alexandrinsky Imperial Theatre in St. Petersburg.
Mook is currently the Associate Artistic Director of A Theatre Group in Silverton, Colorado. There, she co-founded the Curios New Artist series. Writers from the series have been produced at The Public Theatre, Cherry Lane Theatre, Aurora Theatre, and The Humana Festival.
Her directing credits include Shirley Valentine at the Playwright Theatre, and The University of Colorado Denver’s production of The Shape of Things, for which she received a meritorious directing award from the Kennedy Center’s American College Theatre Festival.
She is committed to outreach and theatre for youth. Currently she is directing at Rocky Mountain Theatre for Kids in Boulder Colorado and teaching part time at CU Denver.
