King Academic and Performing Arts Center (KAPAC)

The Center is located on the campus of the Auraria Higher Education Center, which houses the University of Colorado Denver’s College of Arts & Media performance programs and exhibition halls.

The facility is located between Lawrence Way, the Plaza Building, the Parking Garage and the Tivoli Center at 855 Lawrence Way. The center was designed as an educational facility to enhance and further the performing arts on the Auraria Campus. This facility provides the training ground for the institution's performing arts students in theatre and music. It also has become a part of the arts community in Denver and the metropolitan area.

The performing arts wing of the KAPAC contains a 520-seat concert hall, a 300-seat courtyard theatre, a 200-seat recital hall, three production studios, an electronic music studio, lighting lab, workshops, dressing rooms, and design studios. This new state-of-the-art performing arts center officially opened in the fall of 2000.
