MISSION STATEMENT

Media Forensics is the scientific interpretation of audio and video evidence obtained in the course of a formal civil or criminal legal proceeding. The National Center for Media Forensics (NCMF) is a research and education organization created within the Department of Music & Entertainment Industry Studies, College of Arts & Media, at the University of Colorado Denver.

GOALS

The three major goals of the NCMF are:

  • Conduct applied research addressing existing and emerging problems in media forensic science;
  • Provide ongoing professional development training in media forensics for individuals in law enforcement and related professions;
  • Develop and implement a premiere degree program culminating in a Master of Science in Media Forensics.
