Lost Girls of the Sudan Find Their Voice

This project involves the production of a documentary film and photo exhibit on the Lost Girls of Sudan in order to bring to a wide audience the compelling stories of these refugees, settled in the Denver-Boulder area. Greater awareness of their experiences after arrival in the US will support their integration into the community and inform audiences about the challenges faced by many other refugees.

Our work targets the general public as well as high-school students, college students and interested scholars and public outreach workers. This project is supported by a grant from the President's Fund for the Humanities at the University of Colorado. It is being carried out by Laura Deluca, visiting post-doctoral scholar at CYE; Deborah Fryer, a Scripps Environmental Journalism Fellow at CU-Boulder and award-winning documentary filmmaker; and Willem van Vliet-.
