Is the University of Colorado Right For Me?

Visit Our Campus

While a campus visit is not required for admission to the College of Architecture and Planning (CAP), it is strongly recommended that you plan a visit to ensure this is the right campus (and program) for you. The insight gained by seeing the campus and its surroundings firsthand is invaluable.

During your visit, we recommend you make the most of it. Speak with faculty, sit in on a class, and experience what downtown Denver has to offer. More than anything, ask questions. The insight gained will help you more than simply telling you about the campus and faculty. Does it feel right? Did you click with faculty and students? Did you feel confident that the program was competent and worth the praise?

To learn specific information about the Ph.D. program, please contact one of the following:

Michael T. Harper, Administrative Coordinator, at (303) 556-6042, or by email at: michael.t.harper@ucdenver.edu,

Dr. Kevin J. Krizek, Director, at (303) 556-3282, or by e-mail at: kevin.krizek@colorado.edu.

Information for Individual Campus Visits

Guided campus tours and information sessions are available Monday through Friday. To assist the Admissions Office in being prepared for your visit, please call (303) 556-2704 or send an e-mail request to visit@cudenver.edu to arrange your personal tour.

Here are directions to the Office of Admissions through Mapquest.

  • Tours are held at 10:30 a.m. and at 2:30 p.m.
  • There will also be an optional half hour information session with an Admissions Counselor prior to the tours, 10 a.m. and at 2 p.m.

Information for Group Campus Visits

The Admissions Office also offers group visits for non-profit organizations, business, etc. that help prospective students learn about the campus, the programs offered, student life, and student services.

Group visits typically last for two hours and entail a short presentation from an admissions counselor, a student panel, and a campus tour. Special accommodations such as a mini lecture from a professor or an engineering demonstration are possible but must be requested one month in advance.

Call the Office of Admissions at (303) 556-6541 or send an e-mail request to visit@cudenver.edu to arrange a group visit.

(Please note--lunch will not be provided by the university, but there is a convenient assortment of restaurants and food choices on campus.)
