Master of Architecture Admissions


Here are the general Architecture requirements the Admissions Committee considers:

  1. At least a 3.0 undergraduate grade point average--although you may be admitted on probation with a grade point average below 3.0 but above 2.5 
  2. A portfolio of creative work
    1. Portfolio (6–12 bound pages, 8.5 × 11 inches--slides will not be accepted) that includes (but is not limited to):
      1. Essays
      2. Papers
      3. Photographs
      4. Photographic reproductions of artistic work such as sculptures
      5. Drawings
      6. Paintings
      7. Musical compositions
      8. Other fine arts
  3. Graduate Record Exam (GRE) scores are highly advised if your GPA is below 3.0
    1. Scores should be 500-550 on the first two parts, and 4.5-6 on the last part
  4. You must hold at least a bachelor's degree for admission to all professional master's programs.

Your field specialization and educational background can be open, but typically, successful applicants have one of the following areas of specialization:
