The College of Architecture and Planning (CAP) has added two certificate programs (Historic Preservation and Design Build). The third (Geospatial Information Science – GIS) is available through participating departments.
If you’re seeking a degree, these certificates can give you the opportunity to pursue an area of specialization in addition to earning a professional degree.
Within the College of Architecture and Planning, new applications for the Certificate in Historic Preservation are suspended for Academic Year 2010-11. However, CAP students already enrolled for the Certificate may continue and complete their plan of study. The faculty will review the Certificate during the year and recommend future action.
Courses related to Historic Preservation in the College are still available to students in other degree programs, and applicants to the new Master of Science in Historic Preservation may seek up to 15 credit hours of transfer credit/advanced standing for relevant work accomplished in another CAP degree program.
Students in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences may still apply to the Certificate program by contacting Professor Tom Noel at Tom.noel@ucdenver.edu.
The Design Build Certificate is comprised of five courses and 18 credit hours. While this Certificate is currently only available to students in the graduate architecture program, there are plans to eventually make it available to practicing architects as well.
For more information about the Design Build Certificate and how to register for these courses (either as a degree or non-degree student), please contact Pam Erickson, College of Architecture and Planning, at 303-556-3387 or e-mail to pam.erickson.@ucdenver.edu.
The College of Architecture and Planning (CAP) will offer a Geospatial Information Science (GIS) Certificate through participating departments. The emphasis of this Certificate is on applications of GIS in urban and environmental planning and design fields.
This GIS Certificate is available if:
