Geographical Information Systems

Mapping and Finding Patterns in the Community

A geographic information system (GIS) allows communities to visualize, question and understand data in many ways that reveal relationships, patterns and trends in the form of maps, reports and charts.

CCCD assists communities in answering questions and solving problems by looking at data in a way that is quickly understood and shared. With GIS, CCCD provides communities with information that improves decision-making. Uses of GIS for making better informed decisions include business site selection, transportation selection, evacuation planning, conservation and services location.
