Critical Language Scholarship Program
The Critical Language Scholarship (CLS) Program is a fully-funded overseas language and cultural immersion program for American undergraduate and graduate students. Students of diverse disciplines and majors are encouraged to apply. Participants are expected to continue their language study beyond the scholarship period, and later apply their critical language skills in their future professional careers.
STEM (Science, Technology, Engineeering, Mathematics)
The Kymanox mission is to facilitate effective and efficient knowledge transfer. The selected scholarship recipient will receive $1,000 for educational-related expenses. The goal of these funds is to encourage students to study abroad and experience something new to grow their knowledge of the world. Preference will be given to Engineering, Math and Science majors studying in a non-English speaking country, however students from all majors are encouraged to apply.
The Whitaker International Program sends emerging leaders in U.S. biomedical engineering (or bioengineering) overseas to undertake a self-designed project that will enhance their careers within the field. The goal of the program is to assist the development of professional leaders who are not only superb scientists, but who also will advance the profession through an international outlook. Along with supporting grant projects in an academic setting, the Whitaker International Program encourages grantees to engage in policy work and propose projects in an industry setting.
Central Europe Summer Research Institute (CESRI)
CESRI is a fellowship opportunity for U.S. graduate students in science and engineering who are seeking a quality hands-on international research experience in: Austria, the Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia. Eligible are MS and PhD students in sciences (Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Engineering, Environmental Science, Mathematics).
The purpose of the Frank Huntington Beebe Fund is to provide fellowships for gifted young musicians, generally performers and composers in classical disciplines, who wish to pursue advanced music study and performance abroad, usually in Europe.

Asian and Pacific Islander American Scholarship Fund
Asia. The Asian & Pacific Islander American Scholarship Fund (APIASF) is the nation's largest 501c(3) non-profit organization that provides scholarships to Asian and Pacific Islander Americans (APIAs) with financial need. Based in Washington, DC, APIASF was formed in 2003.
Study Abroad Turkey Scholarships for Minority Students
Turkey. The Turkish Coalition of America (TCA) in cooperation with Diversity Abroad are awarding grants per year in the amount of $2,000, $1,000 or $500 for undergraduate and graduate students who have been accepted to a study abroad program in Turkey or Cyprus for a academic year, semester or summer. Applicants must be undergraduate or graduate African-American, Hispanic/Latino or Native-American students who have already applied and been accepted to participate in a study abroad program at a university tin Turkey or Cyprus through an American educational institution or study abroad provider.
Bridging Scholarship for Study Abroad in Japan
Japan. The Bridging Project offers scholarships to American undergraduate students participating in study-abroad programs in Japan. Funding from private foundations and major U.S. corporations, through donations to the nonprofit US-Japan Bridging Foundation, has made it possible for ATJ to award about 100 scholarships each year to assist students with the travel and living expenses they will incur while studying abroad in Japan for a semester or an academic year.
France, French-speaking countries. Thanks to the generosity of the late Walter Jensen, the American Association of Teachers of French is able to offer a scholarship for study abroad to a future teacher of French. Income from gifts of stock given by Mr. Jensen will fund one $2000 scholarship per year to help a student pay for a semester or year's study abroad. This award is intended to allow a deserving student to participate in a long-term study abroad experience he or she might not otherwise be able to afford.
Great Britain. Marshall Scholarships finance young Americans of high ability to study for a graduate degree of one or two years in the United Kingdom. Open only to United States citizens who (at the time they take up their Scholarship) hold a first degree from an accredited four-year college or university in the United States with a minimum GPA of 3.7. Up to forty scholarships are awarded annually.
British Universities Transatlantic Exchange Association (BUTEX)
Great Britain.BUTEX promotes mobility between universities and colleges in the UK and North America. Each year BUTEX awards a number of scholarships to students studying abroad for either a semester or for a whole academic year. The value of each scholarship is £500 and will be paid to the winners once they have arrived and registered at their host university.
DAAD: German American Exchange Service
Germany.The German Government’s Deutscher Akademischer Austausch Dienst (DAAD) generously sponsors a range of scholarships, awards and fellowships for undergraduates, graduates and post-graduates at German universities and research institutes. In most instances, German language is not required.
Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange for Young Professionals
Germany.The Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange for Young Professionals (CBYX) is a fellowship funded by the German Bundestag and U.S. Congress, that annually provides 75 American and 75 German Young Professionals the opportunity to spend one year in each others' countries, studying, interning, and living with hosts on a cultural immersion program. The program is open to candidates in all career fields who are interested in a year of cultural exchange.
National Italian-American Foundation Scholarships
Italy. Eligible students are either Italian-American students who demonstrate outstanding potential and high academic achievements majoring in any area of study, or those students from any ethnic background majoring or minoring in Italian language, Italian studies, Italian American studies or a related field, who demonstrate outstanding potential and high academic achievements. Must be a member of NIAF.
The Dante Alighieri Society of Denver
Italy. The Dante Alighieri Society of Denver annually presents scholarships to deserving college students to study Italian language, music, and art in Italy.
Sigma Delta Pi
Spain, Spanish Speaking countries.The National Collegiate Hispanic Honor Society offers study abroad scholarships for undergraduate and graduate students to study in Spain, Ecuador, Costa Rica, and other Spanish-speaking countries. South America & Latin America
Inter-American Foundation (IAF)
The Inter-American Foundation (IAF) was created in 1969 by the United States Congress to fund the self-help initiatives of the organized poor in Latin America and the Caribbean and the groups that directly support them. To complement its work, the IAF has reinstated its Fellowships for candidates for Ph.D. degrees from United States universities as they conduct their dissertation research. IAF's Fellowships are intended to increase awareness of grassroots development efforts while building a community of professionals and scholars knowledgeable in the subject. Fellows examine the efforts of the rural and urban poor to improve their lives, their methods of organization and production, and the policies and programs designed to alleviate their poverty. The IAF disseminates research findings of its Fellows to a broad audience concerned with development.
Sigma Delta Pi
The National Collegiate Hispanic Honor Society offers study abroad scholarships for undergraduate and graduate students to study in Spain, Ecuador, Costa Rica, and other Spanish-speaking countries. Pueblo Hispanic American Foundation
The foundation focuses on removing financial as well as other barriers that might prevent students from securing an education, and gaining employment. The foundations purpose is to secure funds for scholarships and other educational support for low-moderate income students. Over eighty percent of the money raised by PHEF goes to providing students with support and services. Must be a resident of Colorado to apply.
