The University adopted an International Travel Policy for Faculty and Staff to help safeguard its faculty and staff while teaching, doing research, engaging in clinical practice and conducting other scholarly activities abroad. The policy is intended to provide a consistent framework for addressing safety, while acknowledging that the risks vary considerably depending on the particular place, travelers, and activities.
As part of this policy, faculty and staff must notify the Office of International Affairs of their intention to travel to countries or regions the U.S. State Department has issued a travel warning or to countries and regions the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has issues a travel health warning. These countries often require additional pre-departure preparations and in-country precautions.
